Privacy Policy

MaskAI is unwaveringly committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding the absolute security of your information as you use our image fusion application—a convenient tool dedicated to providing efficient, secure mask try-on services. This Privacy Policy comprehensively details how we handle, manage, and protect your information when you download, install, or use the App. A fundamental design principle of MaskAI is its operation entirely without requiring user accounts, login credentials, or any form of personal identification, enabling you to access all its functions completely anonymously. Most critically, we adhere to a strict, non-negotiable "zero-collection" policy for all sensitive user data: we do not collect, store, transmit, process, analyze, or retain any of your uploaded images, facial information, biometric data, or personal data of any kind to external servers, cloud storage, our own systems, or any third parties. Every single data processing action—from image uploads and facial key point recognition to mask fusion and temporary preview generation—occurs exclusively and entirely on your local device, ensuring your information never leaves your device and remains 100% private and secure. By using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and fully agree to the privacy practices outlined in this Policy.

Information We Do Not Collect

We prioritize your privacy above all else by implementing an absolute "no collection" policy for all sensitive and non-sensitive user data. Unlike mainstream applications that may collect, track, or retain user data for analytics, marketing, or algorithm optimization, MaskAI is engineered to ensure your personal and image data never leaves your device under any circumstances. We explicitly do not gather, track, store, transmit, process, or retain any of the following information:

Uploaded Images & Custom Masks

We do not collect, store, transmit, back up, or retain any personal photos, portraits, or custom mask images you upload to the App for mask try-on purposes. Every image you provide is loaded solely into the App’s local processing module, used exclusively for in-app mask fitting and effect generation during your active usage session, and never saved on our servers, cloud storage, or any external platforms. We do not make copies of your uploaded images, share them with third parties, use them for any purpose beyond the immediate mask try-on session, or retain them after you close the App or clear the local cache. Even if you pause your usage or switch between App functions, your uploaded images remain confined to your device’s temporary memory and are not persisted in any form of permanent storage controlled by us.

Facial Information & Biometric Data

The App utilizes AI technology to automatically identify and analyze facial key points (including but not limited to eye contours, nose shape, mouth position, jawline, and facial symmetry) locally on your device—this process is fully isolated to your device’s local processing unit and does not involve any data transmission, synchronization, or sharing. Critically, we do not collect, extract, store, process, analyze, or retain any facial data, facial features, biometric information, or derivative data generated during this recognition process. All facial key point recognition, analysis, and adjustment are completed in real time on your device; once the mask try-on effect is generated and displayed to you, all temporary facial data, key point coordinates, contour information, and intermediate processing results are immediately discarded from your device’s memory. We do not embed any code or mechanism to capture, save, or transmit facial data, even temporarily, and there is no way for us to access or retrieve such data from your device at any time, regardless of technical circumstances.

Furthermore, we do not collect any biometric identifiers or biometric information (as defined under applicable privacy laws) in any form. This includes but is not limited to facial recognition templates, facial feature mappings, or any data that can be used to uniquely identify an individual’s face. The AI’s facial processing is purely functional for in-app mask fitting and is designed to leave no trace of facial data after the session ends.

Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

Since MaskAI does not require account registration, login, or any form of personal identification to access its full functionality, we never request, collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information. This includes but is not limited to usernames, passwords, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, date of birth, gender, contact information, or any other data that could be used to identify, contact, or locate you. Your entire experience with the App is completely anonymous, with no link between your usage behavior, generated content, or App settings and any personal identity. We do not associate your device ID, IP address, or any device-specific information with any personal identity, and we do not collect device IDs or IP addresses at all.

Location Data & Device Information

We do not collect any information about your device’s geographic location, whether through GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular networks, or any other location-tracking mechanism. The App’s functionality is fully independent of location data, and we have intentionally omitted all code related to location access or tracking. Additionally, we do not collect any device-specific information, including but not limited to device model, operating system version, storage capacity, processor type, or installed applications. We have no mechanism to track, log, or record any details about your device or its configuration.

Usage Data & Analytics

We do not collect any usage data, interaction logs, or analytics related to your use of the App. This includes but is not limited to the number of mask try-on sessions, types of masks used, duration of usage, customization settings selected, image processing history, or any other data that reflects your usage patterns. We do not install any analytics tools, tracking modules, or third-party SDKs that collect usage data, and we do not use any in-house mechanisms to log or monitor your interaction with the App. Your usage behavior remains entirely private and unmonitored by us.

Information Processed Locally on Your Device

Every aspect of data processing related to MaskAI’s core functionality—including image loading, facial key point recognition, mask fusion, effect adjustment, and temporary preview generation—occurs exclusively and entirely on your mobile device. There is no data transmission over the internet, no uploads to external servers, no synchronization with cloud storage, and no access to your data by us or any third parties at any point in the process. This local-only processing workflow is designed to eliminate all risks of data breaches, leaks, or unauthorized access from external sources, and it is enforced through strict code design and technical restrictions. The detailed local processing workflow is as follows:

When you upload a personal photo for mask try-on or select a built-in mask resource, the image is loaded directly into the App’s local processing module, which operates entirely within your device’s memory. No copy of the image is sent to external servers, and the image is not stored in any permanent storage controlled by the App beyond the active usage session.

The App’s AI technology identifies and analyzes facial key points in real time on your device—this process is isolated to your device’s CPU/GPU and does not involve any network requests, data transmission, or external access. The facial key points are used solely to adjust, fit, and align the mask to your face, ensuring a realistic and natural effect. At no point are these key points saved, stored, or transmitted; they exist only in your device’s temporary memory for the duration of the effect generation.

Once the mask try-on effect is generated and displayed to you, you have full control to save the final image to your device’s local storage, share it via external apps, or discard it. We do not retain a copy of the original photo, the mask-adjusted image, the facial key point data, or any intermediate processing results. If you choose not to save the final image, it is immediately deleted from your device’s memory when you exit the processing interface.

Custom mask images you upload are stored temporarily in the App’s local cache only for the duration of your active usage session. When you close the App, exit the custom mask interface, or clear the App’s cache (either manually or via the App’s built-in tools), these custom mask images are permanently and irreversibly deleted from your device. They are never saved to permanent storage unless you explicitly choose to store them in your device’s photo gallery or designated folder.

Built-in mask resources are pre-installed locally on your device when you download the App. These resources are stored in the App’s local package and do not involve any data transmission to or from external servers during usage. No user data is generated, collected, or logged from your use of these built-in resources.

How We Use Information (Local Only)

The sole and exclusive purpose of processing your images and generating facial key points locally on your device is to deliver the App’s core mask try-on functionality—providing you with a realistic, customizable mask fitting experience. We do not use your data for any other purposes whatsoever, and we have no mechanism to repurpose, share, or monetize any data (as we collect no data). Specifically, we do not use your data for:

Algorithm or functionality improvement: We do not collect any anonymized, aggregated, or de-identified data about your mask try-on sessions, image types, usage patterns, or customization preferences to optimize the App’s AI algorithms or functionality. All algorithm updates and feature improvements are based on internal testing, developer feedback, and industry best practices—not user data. We never access or analyze user-generated content or processing results to enhance the App.

Commercial activities: We never use your data for advertising, marketing, promotions, or any commercial purposes. The App contains no ads, and we do not partner with advertisers, ad networks, or marketing platforms in any way. We do not collect any data that could be used to target you with ads or promotional content.

Sharing or monetization: We do not sell, rent, lease, disclose, license, or otherwise monetize any of your data to third parties, data brokers, or other entities for any reason. Since we do not collect any data in the first place, there is no information to share, transfer, or profit from under any circumstances.

Legal or compliance purposes: We do not collect or retain any data that could be subject to legal requests, subpoenas, or regulatory inquiries. In the event of a legal request, we have no user data to disclose, as all data remains on your device and is controlled exclusively by you.

The final mask try-on images you generate are entirely your property. You have full, exclusive control over whether to save, share, delete, or modify these images, and we have no access to, control over, or visibility into these actions once the image is saved to your device.

Data Storage and Security

1. Local Storage Exclusively

All data associated with your use of MaskAI—including temporary caches of uploaded images, custom masks (during active usage sessions), and the final mask try-on images you choose to save—is stored exclusively and entirely on your device. We do not maintain any servers, cloud storage, or databases for storing user data, and there is no technical mechanism for your data to be uploaded to our systems, third-party platforms, or any external networks. This local-only storage design eliminates the risk of data breaches, hacks, leaks, or unauthorized access from external sources, as there is no central repository of user data to target.

Temporary data (such as uploaded photos, custom masks not saved to your device, facial key point coordinates, and intermediate processing results) is automatically and irreversibly cleared from your device’s memory when you close the App, exit the processing interface, or clear the App’s cache. Saved final images are stored in your device’s default photo gallery or designated storage folder, which is controlled entirely by you—we have no access to this storage location and cannot modify, delete, or access these images.

2. Enhanced Security Measures

We implement industry-leading security practices to protect your local data and ensure the integrity of the App’s processing, with a focus on preventing unauthorized access to temporary data on your device. These measures include:

Local data isolation: The App’s processing module is fully isolated from other parts of your device’s operating system and other installed applications. This isolation prevents unauthorized access to temporary image data, facial key points, and processing results from other apps, services, or external parties.

Secure in-memory processing: All facial key point recognition and image processing occur in your device’s volatile memory (RAM), which is automatically cleared when the App is closed or the processing session ends. No temporary facial data or processing results are written to non-volatile storage (such as your device’s hard drive) unless you explicitly save the final image.

Encrypted local cache: Where supported by your device’s operating system, the App’s temporary cache is encrypted to protect against unauthorized access if your device is compromised. This encryption ensures that even if someone gains physical access to your device, they cannot access the App’s temporary data.

Secure coding practices: The App is developed with strict security standards and undergoes regular security audits to prevent vulnerabilities that could compromise local data. We release regular updates to fix potential bugs, patch security loopholes, and enhance local data protection.

No background data processing: The App only processes data when you actively use the mask try-on feature. There is no background processing, data collection, or memory access occurring when the App is minimized, closed, or not in use. This ensures that your data is only processed when you intentionally use the App.

You also play a key role in protecting your data. We recommend securing your device with a strong passcode, biometric authentication (such as fingerprint or face recognition), or other security features to prevent unauthorized access to the App and your stored images. Avoid sharing your device with others if you wish to keep your MaskAI-generated content private, as anyone with access to your device may be able to view saved images. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all temporary data, cache, and custom mask resources associated with MaskAI from your device.

Your Absolute Control Over Your Information

Since all data is stored and processed locally on your device, you have complete, exclusive, and sole control over all information related to your use of MaskAI. This control is absolute and requires no action or request from us, as we never collect or store your data in the first place. Your control includes:

Uploaded images & custom masks: You can delete any photos or custom masks you upload to the App at any time—either during the usage session by discarding the image, or by clearing the App’s cache (via the App’s settings or your device’s settings). Deletion is immediate and permanent, with no way to recover the data once deleted.

Generated images: You can save, share, delete, or modify the final mask try-on images directly from your device’s storage, with no restrictions, limitations, or oversight from us. We have no ability to access, modify, or delete these images.

App data & cache: Uninstalling the App will permanently and irreversibly delete all temporary data, cache, custom mask resources, and intermediate processing data associated with MaskAI from your device. Saved final images will remain in your device’s storage unless you delete them separately.

Usage preferences: You can adjust the App’s settings (such as image quality, mask fitting sensitivity, and cache management) to control how the App processes your images locally. These adjustments have no impact on data collection (as we collect no data) and are fully under your control.

There is no need to submit data deletion requests, opt-out forms, or privacy requests to us, as we never collect or store your data. All data management is done directly on your device at your sole discretion.

Third-Party Services

MaskAI is engineered to minimize integration with third-party services to ensure maximum privacy and data security. The App does not integrate with third-party analytics tools, advertising networks, data collection services, social media SDKs, or tracking platforms. We have intentionally omitted all third-party code that could collect, transmit, or process user data.

The only potential third-party interaction occurs when you voluntarily and intentionally choose to share your generated mask try-on images via external apps (such as social media, messaging apps, or email). This sharing is initiated, controlled, and managed entirely by you—we have no access to, control over, or visibility into the data transmitted during these sharing actions, and we do not retain any records of your sharing behavior. The third-party app’s privacy policy applies to the shared data, not this Policy.

Built-in mask resources are either owned by us or licensed from third-party creators who have agreed to our strict privacy standards. These resources are pre-loaded locally on your device during App installation and do not involve any data transmission to or from the third-party creators. The third-party creators have no access to your usage data, images, or any other information related to your use of the App.

Children’s Privacy

MaskAI is designed for use by individuals of all ages, including children. We strictly comply with applicable children’s privacy laws (such as COPPA in the United States) by adhering to our zero-collection policy. Since the App does not collect any user data, images, facial information, or personal information of any kind—regardless of the user’s age—there is no risk of children’s personal information being exposed, misused, or shared with third parties. Parents or guardians can rest assured that their child’s use of the App is completely private, with all images, processing, and data remaining exclusively on the child’s device.

If a parent or guardian has concerns about their child’s use of the App, they can simply uninstall the App to remove all temporary data, cache, and custom masks from the child’s device. Saved final images can be deleted directly from the child’s device’s photo gallery, with no involvement from us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App’s functionality, clarify our privacy practices, or enhance transparency. However, we will never make changes that increase data collection, weaken privacy protections, or compromise your data security without providing clear, prominent notification. When we make updates, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this Policy and notify you within the App via a pop-up notification the next time you use it. The updated Policy will not retroactively apply to your previous usage, and your continued use of the App after the updated Policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Policy, you may uninstall the App at any time.
